The first written evidence of the formation of Barr Beacon Lodge is found in a letter stating that at the meeting of Hatherton Lodge No. 2474 in January 1944, a committee was to be formed of seven members of that Lodge with a view to preparing a petition to Grand Lodge in London for the formation of a new Lodge.
The seven founders met on the 7th February 1945 and it was a that meeting that the name of Barr Beacon Lodge was agreed, Barr Beacon being a local beauty spot just outside Aldridge, which at that time was in the county of Staffordshire (but now the West Midlands).
The draft by-laws were prepared by W. Bro. R.E. Ledbury and presented to a meeting on 27th July 1944. It was agreed that the Regular Meetings would be held eight times per year on the first Tuesday of the months from October to May.
The consecration meeting of Barr Beacon Lodge No.6109 was held on 2nd October 1945.
Meetings of the Lodge originally were held at the Masonic Hall, Freer Street, Walsall. In October 1974, the new Masonic Hall was opened in Aldridge and Barr Beacon Lodge moved to its present home.
The Lodge celebrated its Golden Jubilee meeting on the 3rd October 1995 and its Diamond Jubilee meeting on the 4th October 2005.
